First Steps Forward was created to build a supportive community and provide resources for Bhutanese-Nepali high school students. The program offers guidance on college and career planning, leadership development, and post-secondary pathways through engaging workshops, peer connections, and culturally responsive mentors. Many of our students come from first-generation families and face adversity due to limited opportunities, networks, and role models. Despite these challenges, they are determined to create a better future for themselves through education and personal growth. First Steps Forward helps bridge that gap by providing personalized mentorship and resources that speak to the unique needs of our community. We’re committed to ensuring every student, regardless of their circumstances, has the tools and lasting support to pursue their goals. By promoting equity and expanding access to opportunities, we strive to empower every student to reach their full potential and strengthen the future of the Bhutanese-Nepali community.
